Wow, time fly’s by quickly when we’re trying to physically and spiritually build a church home at the same time! We are moving forward though in all areas. We’ve been putting up walls, building sliding doors, wiring for sound...you name it. It all takes time when the members of our church are working so hard on their days off. It’s amazing to look at what’s been accomplished in 2014 and where we’re going in 2015.
Just think, we moved from a small rental facility in Isanti to purchasing our own building in Ham Lake and now making it our church home just a short 8 months ago. The transformation is nothing short of amazing. God’s hand has been all over this entire makeover;
- Finding, funding, approvals, to move into our new church home in 30 days
- Phase 1 of our Build-out efforts with donations
- Donations for a one-time payment of our 2014 commercial taxes
- The spirit filled volunteers outside our church and our church family that keep this moving forward…
I will never forget Volunteer Christian Builders who came here in May for two weeks (all of those motorhomes parked out back is a sight I will never forget) and framed out the entire area for us so we could continue once they left. They have kept in touch spiritually and financially threw this entire endeavor and have been an inspiration for our church family to continue the efforts. These guys don’t just talk the talk, they walk the walk. Thank you, God!
We still have a way to go and I think we’ll always be looking to improve the building. For instance, we need a new HVAC system because heating with electric is far too expensive.
Lord willing, Linda has it on her heart to create a community restaurant with the premise that those that can pay for a meal, pay for those that can’t. We are working on a grant that would allow us to re-build the kitchen area and add bathrooms. While we’re busy doing all of that, we need to concentrate on caring for our own and the lost. How do we accomplish that? First of all, we need to take our current disciples and train and equip them to succeed to Worship Him, Walk with Him and Welcome Others to Him thru our Trail to Discipleship classes.
Remember, God never said it would be easy. It takes time to train an Army before it can fight. We’ll be in a training mode early this spring, so we’ll be ready to set out and fight the battles confronting us with the Lord in each one of us.
As I’ve stated many times in my sermons, we are to love, lift and encourage on another daily. Love, Lift, Encourage, - three words not to forget. When we do that, we are being Christ like. Now the message is bright! Please be patient, loving, caring and kind throughout the year.
"If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly." Romans: 12:8
