Pastors Page Update August of 2017
It’s truly exciting to witness Gods work. His spirit fills our hearts with love and caring for others. We have been working hard building the church physically and spiritually at the same time.
Just think, we moved from a small rental facility of approximately 5,000 square feet in Isanti to owning our own 33,000 square foot facility in Ham Lake. This transformation is nothing short of a miracle. God’s hand is abounding….
The building had nothing but 4 block walls. We hired an architect to design our new church home. Then we needed a building crew to build it and the funds to purchase the materials. I will never forget The Volunteer Christian Builders group out of Texas who came to do our buildout. Eight motorhomes with trailers parked out back behind the church. They were here for 2 weeks and left with two thirds of the build-out complete. We are so grateful that God brought these faith=-filled men and women into our lives and we keep in touch to this day. As the Apostle James says, don’t talk the talk, but walk the walk! They indeed walk the walk… Thank You, God!
Then came a huge commercial tax bill our first year there, because we wouldn’t become exempt until our second year. We called again for help and donations totaling $18,000 came in right up to the last day they were due…. Thank You, God!
Our first year we had to convert the building from electric to gas heating and cooling that cost $35,000 because our first electric heat bill was $11,000 for one month… Again, Thank You, God for the generous Christian folks that helped in our time of need.
The hurdles were huge, but not for God. I’ve always said and will say until I pass, this church of Jesus Christ will change many people’s lives forever…. Just think, changing lives is what it’s all about…
We are currently working on fundraising to add new bathrooms that are sorely needed and to rebuild the kitchen area.
I pray to our Heavenly Father daily for his provisions on this facility. These are just the physical needs, but we must also provide for the spiritual needs too. We do that thru our Sunday services, Bible studies, and our prayer groups. I pray often that we find ways to assist in our community in any way possible.
Oh yeah, we are on our way to create a community café to feed the hungry with the premise that you can pay for a meal for those that can’t. Bottom line is this, you pay what you can afford. This effort is being driven by my wife Linda. This has been on our heart as an outreach for a long time and guess what, God will assist her in this endeavor…
How strong is your faith? Let’s look at Mathew, 9:29 “Then he touched their eyes and said, because of your faith, it will happen”.
Our faith is strong and God provides, that’s just the way it is. We need to pray and thank our heavenly Father daily for those blessings.
As I’ve stated many times in my sermons, we are to love, lift and encourage one another daily. Never lose sight of that. So now that you know the message is bright, get moving… And thru it all, be patient, loving, caring, and kind throughout the year…
I will leave you with this:
“If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly”. Romans 12:8
Not my words, Gods word….
